Omega Boys Club/Street Soldiers
Omega Boys Club Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Joe Marshal, is celebrating 25 years of helping at-risk teens turn their life around from gangs and drugs to college and careers. Using their radio program, Street Soldiers, Dr. Marshal has been able to reach out to thousands of teens, giving them advice and support. One of the program’s many successes is Andre Aikins, who changed his life around from street violence and drugs to now working as Operations Manager for Omega Boys Club.

The holiday season is almost here, and anticipation is running high for the annual SF SPCA’s Pet Adoption Holiday Windows display. This will be the 11th year where shoppers see adorable and adoptable puppies and kittens in display windows at Macy’s in downtown San Francisco. All the animals on display are available for adoption on the spot! The unveiling of the windows takes place November 16th at 5:00 PM and will remain throughout the holiday season, till January 2, 2013.

Wish Upon a Wedding
“Wish Upon a Wedding” is a nonprofit organization that grants and provides weddings to those with terminal or life-altering illnesses. In its third year, the non-profit has already granted its fiftieth wedding this year in Chicago. With 23 chapters nationwide, couples who could not afford a wedding before, can now sign up for a possibility to temporarily forget their woes and celebrate their love with the help of “Wish Upon a Wedding.” The organization provides all the services needed for a wedding, including venue, cake and the bride’s wedding gown.

“Wish Upon a Wedding’s” nonprofit partner, “Brides for a Cause,” will be having a wedding dress sale at the Courtyard Marriott in San Jose. Dresses are either new or gently used and start at $150. All proceeds will go to “Wish Upon a Wedding.” For more information:
