FLX Account Executive

KTVU FOX 2 is seeking a Digital Account Executive who is experienced in business development and has established contacts to make an immediate impact in its rapidly growing digital business. The ideal candidate will be based out of Sacramento, CA. Be part of a winning team with a diverse culture that believes in supporting, mentoring, and training our staff. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Candidate will have responsibility of developing and maintain a robust sales pipeline of qualified clients for the Fox Local Extension (FLX) OTT platform.
  • Source new sales opportunities through a combination of identifying and researching potential accounts and soliciting new business via outbound communication as well as inbound lead follow-up.
  • Maintain a consistent presence out in the field building relationships and presenting, live or via Zoom, the benefits of the FLX platform.
  • Quickly become a product expert in order to participate in brainstorming, staff meetings, client meetings, researching and assisting in proposal development and campaign reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Research Director to develop and maintain custom presentations that further highlight the benefits and utility of FLX. • Maintain expert knowledge of competitive OTT platforms and a clear understanding of the characteristics that give FLX a competitive advantage.
  • Stewart client campaigns and work on a variety of weekly and monthly reports to develop impactful post campaign recaps and provide recommendations to further optimize client campaigns.
  • Work closely with the Digital Sales Manager on every RFP and presentation for consistency in creating impactful campaigns that help our clients achieve the marketing objectives.
  • Maintain a positive and effective working relationship with Ad-Ops, creative services, and finance departments. • Other duties assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with daily high volume sales activity in a B2B sales environment.
  • A sales hunter mentality with the ability to consult with clients and understand how your products can serve as the solution to help them meet their objectives.
  • You have managed a book of business and understand how to organize/plan your day to meet deadlines in a fast pace environment.
  • You thrive in a metrics and results driven sales culture and have a track record to prove it.
  • You have experience in building rapport, providing technical information and explanations, and preparing presentations.
  • Has established OTT/Digital relationships and is able to make an immediate impact on a sales team.
  • Digital Video Advertising and/or Digital Agency/Digital Publisher experience preferred.
  • Strong written/oral communications, presentation and account management skills are also required.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Varied hours, weekends, holidays and local travel is required. Must have or be willing to obtain reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • College degree (or equivalent work experience) and 1 to 3 years digital sales experience is required.

Account Executive (two openings)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and grow existing client list by utilizing our market leading FOX stations, digital properties, and industry leading OTT platform to create impactful marketing campaigns for advertising partners.
  • Develop a consistent stream of new business and manage the entire sales cycle in order to achieve monthly revenue targets.
  • Gain key insight on client goals and objectives in order to make presentation and recommendations to successfully achieve them with all of our offerings.
  • Responsible for selling sponsorships that may include promotions initiated by sales persons.
  • Ability to create impactful multi-platform advertising campaigns that include KTVU/KTVU+, KTVU’s digital offerings, and OTT.
  • Utilize all available sales tools in order to educate clients on the broadcast landscape and develop value propositions to earn client’s business.
  • Manage and maintain campaigns to ensure all deliverables are met and provide superb after-sales support in order to develop long lasting partnerships.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Media sales or other outside sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to create, present, and sell through opportunities to Clients and Advertising agencies.
  • Experience with Wide Orbit, Wide Orbit Media Sales, and Kantar applications a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs including Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook.
  • Effective time management, communication, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Must possess a driver's license with a good driving record

Production Stagehand

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Organizing the studio for all newscasts—prompting & cueing Anchors during the newscasts & restoring the stage for the next shift to include some studio maintenance. Floor directing for talent and crews with either multi-camera or single-camera shooting from the Control Room (and on location) during broadcasts. Floor directing for all types of television station programs: Sports, promotion, local programming, community affairs, commercials and remotes. This position consults with the Directors, Producers, Anchors and all other crewmembers on production needs and directly reports to the Studio Production manager. Skill using wireless lavalier microphones including daily testing, charging, and the ability to dress mics on talent & guests. Use of ladders and/or motorized lifts scaling to a height of 25. Ability to lift & carry studio items up to 20lbs Working knowledge of studio lighting. Ignite, Inews, AutoCue experience or other newscast automation --a plus. Valid California Driver’s License

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma is required; 4-year College degree is preferred.  Candidate should have some experience with fast-paced television productions. News Producer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Producer is required to select content, write and copy edit stories, assemble stories into a rundown, book guests, and create graphics and visuals to complement the presentation of material for the on-air broadcast and digital platforms. The producer must be able to write news copy clearly, in broadcast style, for on-air, online, and other digital platforms. Must be able to assemble news material in a logical and organized fashion and present finished stories in a professional and engaging manner for viewers/readers to be able to comprehend the latest local, national and international news.  Strong writing and producing skills are essential.  Ability to contribute ideas on a daily basis and to recognize what types of stories would make for interesting and compelling television and online content.  Ability to adapt to a fast-paced quickly changing environment and react in live situations to cover breaking news, etc.  Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with peers and supervisors and to develop contacts outside the building to aid in news gathering.  The producer must be enterprising and self-motivated and be able to work independently to develop newscast or assigned production.  Requires a thorough understanding of all journalistic standards and broadcast production techniques used to create visual and compelling on-air and online content. Manager Local Sales

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Candidate will have responsibility of leading the local sale efforts of KTVU/KTVU+ ad time and digital assets to local/regional clients.
  • Deal effectively with a varied list of clients. Communicate effectively and establish strong relationships directly with local agencies and clients.
  • Develop/implement strategies for growth on existing accounts and an effective new business plan.
  • Establish and monitor local budgets to ensure successful achievement. 
  • Collaborate with the Research Director to develop impression estimates and assist with proposals and research items that strategically position the stations various platforms.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of LPM impressions and programming, for our stations and the rest of the marketplace.
  • Work on a variety of weekly and monthly reports to monitor market activity and strategized with the management team and local account executives.
  • Work closely with the Digital Sales Manager on every negotiation and presentation for consistency in creating impactful multi-platform campaigns that help our clients achieve the marketing objectives.
  • Demonstrate leadership to the department and fellow managers; all designed to achieve and exceed station goals and objectives on all media platforms- television, internet, mobile and digital.
  • Maintain a positive and effective working relationship with traffic, creative services, and finance departments.
  • Assist with recruitment, training, development and motivation of a local sales team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidate must have experience in staff supervision, adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Candidate must have knowledge of marketing, retail and competitive media, impressions, pricing, inventory control and budgeting.
  • Candidate must demonstrate ability to solve problems creatively.  Candidate must be detail oriented, resourceful, a team player, reliable and a self-starter.
  • Must have a deep understanding of the digital landscape
  • Must have a track record of successfully leading a team that consistently grows market share and develops new business.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of industry software is required.
  • Strong written/oral communications, presentation and management skills are also required.

Digital Content Producer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: An ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, a strong understanding of SEO and be able to work under tight deadlines. Producer will be in charge of creating content that resonates with digital audiences on KTVU’s digital and social media platforms. Must be skilled in content creation and analytics software. Candidate will work collaboratively with digital team, newsroom and Fox owned local stations to generate original story ideas and content. Knowledge of local television newsroom operations a plus. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be a strong writer and storyteller with the ability to convey information to viewers in a conversational manner. Must be knowledgeable about current events and be able to collaborate with newsroom on editorial direction and presentation. Must be able to report on breaking news and other developing stories with little assistance from production crews. Must be able to handle high stress environment while staying calm on air and behind the scenes. Must be able to discuss current events unscripted during the course of a live broadcast. News Photographer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: KTVU is seeking a News ENG Photographer to work with a team of journalists covering stories in the Bay Area. Photographer will work with reporters to craft daily stories, execute live shots, provide pictures and video to digital teams and provide information to the assignment desk and producers. Must be experienced in shooting local news, operating ENG vehicles, LiveU backpacks or similar devices, and non-linear editing equipment. Must also have a professional level of skill in lighting and audio operations in the field. Must be able to work under deadline in high-pressure situations, including breaking news. Assignments may include out of market and overnight travel. Other duties assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum of three years of professional News Camera experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Candidates must have an excellent driving record. A professional level of skill in operation of ENG live trucks, ENG field cameras and field editing systems, including non-linear and associated photographic equipment is required.

KTVU & KTVU Plus Internships

KTVU Channel 2 and KTVU Plus offer an unpaid college internship program three times a year: Spring, Summer and Fall.

Students are provided a chance to experience the working environment of television broadcasting including news/sports, digital/social media news production and promotion, and community affairs.Internship Requirements:College students must meet these requirements to qualify for a KTVU/KTVU Plus internship:

  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited four year college.
  • Be a junior, senior or graduate student in a graduate program.
  • Provide a letter on school letterhead, prior to the start of the internship, from an advisor or professor stating that the student is enrolled in school during the current semester/quarter and will be receiving course credit.
  • Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
