'My son is a good man' says mother of Derek Chauvin as she begs court for leniency

Carolyn Pawlenty, the mother of Derek Chauvin, took the podium during her son's sentencing hearing begging the court for leniency. "I believe a lengthy sentence will not serve Derek well. When you sentence my son, you'll also be sentencing me."
