I’ve been asked, “If you ever wrote a book what would the title be?” Roundtrip.
My parents are native San Franciscans. My three siblings were born in the Bay Area, but I was actually born in Jakarta, Indonesia.
My father worked for Bechtel and we lived overseas for quite some time. So when I was born, the family happened to be in Indonesia. Three years later my father passed away, and my mom and my siblings settled in Marin.
I attended high school at St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco and then it was off to College of Marin for a few years.
Before transferring to the University of Colorado at Boulder to study broadcast news, I went to my father’s gravesite and asked him to be with me on this new journey. I knew I would be gone for quite some time I as tried to achieve my goal of becoming a reporter in the Bay Area.
I promised him I would eventually come back home to him, and eight years later in March of 2005 I did as a general assignment reporter at KTVU.
After graduating from CU’s School of Journalism with a degree in Broadcast News, I began my career at WIBW in Topeka, Kansas. I was a photographer and then transitioned into reporting.
After Topeka, I traveled to KVOA in Tucson, Arizona whereI reported during the weekday and anchored the weekend news.
I co-anchored the launch of Mornings on 2 Saturday/Sunday at KTVU in January 2011 and continued in that role before transitioning to the co-anchor of KTVU FOX 2 News at 4 that launched in June of 2015.
I love my 49ers and SF Giants, and heading up to Lake Tahoe. I enjoy relaxing on the beaches along the Marin and Sonoma coasts and the trails up on Mt. Tam.
I live the North Bay with my wife and children, settling not far from where my dad now rests. I love being in the Bay Area, and working here is an honor. I made a promise a long time ago, I made the round-trip home!
