Bay Area bridge tolls rising January 1

Starting January 1, drivers will have to pay more to cross several Bay Area bridges, in an effort to address rising maintenance costs. The tolls are rising from $8 to $8.50, which be the second of a series of hikes approved by the Bay Area Toll Authority.
