Assignment Desk Editor
Responsibilities: Generate news stories within KTVU’s standards and guidelines. Research and develop local news stories. Monitor wire services, mail, phone beats, radios, social media sites etc., for breaking news stories. At the direction of news management, gather background material and set-up news stories for reporters and photographers. Contribute to station’s social media platforms, creating content and breaking news on various platforms. Evaluate and list newsworthy events in computerized assignment planning files. Work closely with news management, news reporters, producers, web department and photographers to cover news events and breaking news. Work with FOX station group and other affiliated partners to provide video for feeds and/or coordinate coverage of events.
Provide direction to news crews in the field. Maintain a future file and beat check for news material. Work with news staff to gather elements needed for news packages and online content. Develop outside news sources and contacts. Work with the news management team on continuing efforts to upgrade the news generating capabilities of KTVU. Must be aware of the development and urgency of news events and have the ability to cover and translate those stories into maximum viewer interest. Other duties assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate.
Requirements: Associated degree (or equivalent) in Journalism or Communications from a college or university plus a minimum of two years major market TV assignment editor experience is required. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, required. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of the latest ways to utilize social media, both as a news gathering tool and to communicate with our audience.

Digital Sales Manager
Responsibilities: Develop revenue-producing digital sales ideas for station from start to finish. Increasing local revenue share and driving creation of new digital business. Primary point of contact for all local digital sales campaigns. Internal expert on digital sales. Coach and motivate local sales staff. Track/maintain digital sales records for all clients. Create effective sales presentations and one-sheets, giving clients a clear picture of opportunities presented to them. Analyze campaign performance and communicate results to clients. Responsible for conceptualizing and executing a winning digital sales strategy. Position will report to the local VP General Sales Manager and the VP of Digital Sales. The Digital Sales Manager (DSM) will be responsible for the overall monetization strategy for the Station's website, apps, OTT and social media platforms. The DSM plays a key role as the driving force behind revenue growth and new digital business development. Other duties as deemed necessary and assigned.
Requirements: 5+ years digital sales or sales management experience preferred. BA in Marketing, Communications or related field. Deep understanding of digital sales and how to meet clients’ needs while also meeting/exceeding revenue goals. Expert in social media monetization. Understanding of ad tags, analytics and campaign tools. Demonstrated leadership skills. Experience developing/motivating winning teams. Must be able to thrive in an intense, fast-moving environment. Must be creative and have a passion for innovation. Must be a strong communicator with significant experience building/delivering presentations. Working knowledge of DART or similar operation systems.

Director of Sales
Responsibilities: FOX O&O in the San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose television market seeks an experienced Director of Sales to develop strategy for KTVU/KTVU Plus Sales department with overall responsibility for the revenue of our TV stations on a local, national, digital and new business level. Responsible for the supervision of Sales, Traffic, Research and Programming departments including recruiting, scheduling, training, discipline and evaluations. Maintains strict compliance with all FTS guidelines involved in the sales process related to revenue reporting and negotiations. Ensure all internal controls are followed and all advertising meets FTS and local station compliance. Oversees and analyzes periodic Nielsen reporting or other industry related research platforms. Develops fiscal year revenue and expense budgets for the sales department and work effectively with the Finance department to provide accurate financial information concerning sales budget management and reporting. Oversees achievement of revenue budgets. Analyze and controls expenditures of department to conform to budgetary requirements. Package, price, and control station inventory. Oversee political advertising effort, including Public File requirements relating to political candidates. Coordinate credit and collection efforts with VP/Finance. Oversee internet/interactive media/digital efforts. Monitor no charge reports, trade agreements, and programming impact studies. Host and entertain clients, as required. Work with V.P. General Manager to determine station’s sales/marketing priorities and goals. Other duties assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.
Requirements: Must be extremely knowledgeable in the basic and advanced techniques of selling TV and in sales negotiation with a good understanding of TV programming, production and research. News ENG Photographer
Responsibilities: KTVU is seeking a News ENG Photographer to clearly and creatively record news events and perform ENG operations so the story may be effectively conveyed to the viewers in a complete, factual, timely and professional manner Must have a professional level of skill in lighting and audio operations in the field. Operate, service, and maintain in proper working order electronic equipment provided for the execution of assignments. Must be familiar with ENG technology and microwave transmission in order to carry out live shots. Must conduct wide range of ENG operations with a clear understanding of safety procedures. Must be able to edit in the field under pressure and be familiar with non-linear editing. Seek out and shoot live action, breaking news stories, monitor 2-way radio from newsroom and monitor police scanners for information on news stories. Drive reporters to the scene of live, breaking news stories and to locations to shoot stories for later use on News programs. Carry out the instructions of the Assignment Desk and Newsroom Managers. May occasionally be required to photograph scenes from an airplane or helicopter or fly to an assignment in such an aircraft. Assignments may include out of market and overnight travel. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three years of professional News Camera experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have an excellent driving record. A professional level of skill in operation of ENG live trucks, ENG field cameras and field editing systems, including non-linear and associated photographic equipment is required.

Producer
Responsibilities: The producer gathers and selects news content, writes and copy edits stories, assembles the stories into a rundown, and creates graphics and visuals to complement the presentation of material for the on-air broadcast and digital platforms. This includes generating story ideas, writing and/or producing packages for air. Work closely with News Managers, Assignment Desk, news reporters and other newsroom employees on story conception and development and execution of story. Create and write content for digital platforms that cross-promote and/or supplement station’s news gathering efforts. Participate in editorial meetings, contributing ideas and innovative ways to present material. Producers will also be assigned to produce or oversee special projects, productions, or live coverage of station-sponsored events. Other duties assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.
Requirements: The producer must be able to write news copy clearly, in broadcast style, for on-air, online, and other digital platforms. Must be able to assemble news material in a logical and organized fashion and present finished stories in a professional and engaging manner for viewers/readers to be able to comprehend the latest local, national and international news. Strong writing and producing skills are essential. Ability to contribute ideas on a daily basis and to recognize what types of stories would make for interesting and compelling television and online content. Ability to adapt to a fast paced quickly changing environment and react in live situations to cover breaking news, etc. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with peers and supervisors and to develop contacts outside the building to aid in newsgathering. The producer must be enterprising and self-motivated and be able to work independently to develop newscast or assigned production. Requires a thorough understanding of all journalistic standards and broadcast production techniques used to create visual and compelling on-air and online content.
Bachelor’s Degree in journalism or related field required. Must have experience producing TV newscasts (minimum of 2 years). Familiarity with Bit Central, iNews and Edius a plus. Must be able to meet aggressive deadlines while completing high quality broadcasts. Must have thorough understanding of social media platforms and experience posting to digital platforms.

Traffic Assistant/Log Editor
Responsibilities: Strong analytical skills are needed to join this exciting and fast-paced organization. As part of the Commercial Operations team, you will be responsible for configuring, monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing our daily logs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Work with inventory, program formats, process and download Station logs. Back-up other position in the traffic department as needed. Works closely with Local Sales Account Executives, National and Local Sales Assistants, Engineering and Promotion departments. Other duties assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate.
Requirements: Weekends, holidays and varied hours req. Strong and accurate PC and typing skills and data entry experience required. Must be detail oriented. Prior experience in broadcast traffic preferred. Prior experience on WideOrbit traffic system preferred. Requires excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and accuracy. Must be able to interact professionally with a variety of people and work efficiently and courteously with station personnel. HS diploma or equivalent is required with a College degree preferred.

Sales Assistant
Responsibilities: Candidate will provide administrative support to the KTVU Fox 2 and KICU TV36 Sales management staff and Account Executives. Duties include writing and checking orders, proposals, maintaining organizational systems, general office requirements, and assisting with special projects. Investigate order discrepancies and credit memos. Back up other sales assistants as necessary. Participate in and help with sales coordinated events. Answer phones in a professional and courteous manner. Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.
Requirements: Strong written/oral communication skills are required. Strong PC skills and proficiency w/ Microsoft Office is also required. This position requires excellent attention to detail, and accuracy. Must be able to interact professionally with a variety of people and work efficiently and courteously w/ station personnel. Must be personable and demonstrate initiative. Two years of experience in an administrative position is required. Media experience preferred. High school diploma or GED is required. College degree preferred.

Account Executive
Responsibilities:
Maintain and improve existing client list and generate new business on our FOX stations and websites in order to generate significant revenue and achieve sales budget. Make presentations to advertising agencies and clients. Responsible for selling sponsorships that may include promotions initiated by sales persons. Compile lists of prospective customers to use as sales leads. This position involves local travel to call on regular and prospective clients.

Requirements:
A Bachelors’ Degree plus four years of major market experience in transactional and online advertising sales is required. Candidate must be proficient in negotiating utilizing Nielsen LPM ratings and qualitative information. Strong communication and presentation skills – both written and oral are required. Major network affiliation is preferred. Candidate must have proven success with generating and maintaining new business and experience with major sports programming sales. Prior experience with Wide Orbit and One Domain is preferred. Candidate must be detail oriented, resourceful, a team player, reliable and a self-starter. Candidate must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must have or be willing to obtain and drive reliable transportation and have a valid CA driver’s license with a good driving record.
