5 shot at Chapel of the Chimes mortuary in Union City

UNION CITY, Calif. (KTVU) - Police in Union City are investigating a shooting left five people injured Thursday.

Officers with the Union City Police Department responded Thursday at 7:04 p.m. to the Chapel of Chimes Cemetery on Mission Boulevard after receiving several 911 calls about a shooting.

Responding officers located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

During the investigation, police located a fourth shooting victim away from the scene.

The victims were transported to the hospital for treatment. A short time later, police received a call from a local hospital about a victim being treated for a gunshot wound.

All five are expected to survive, said Union City police Lt. Travis Souza.

Police have not released the names, ages and gender of the victims.

The motive of the shooting remains under investigation, and the suspects in the shooting remain at large, police said.
