4-YO dies in Antioch crash involving stolen truck

- A 23-year-old Pittsburg man was arrested on one count of murder after police say his stolen truck slammed into a four-year-old girl and killed her in Antioch on Wednesday afternoon, according to Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.

The four-year-old girl has been identified as Lenexy Cardoza. Her two-year-old sister Camila Cardoza was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Their mother was also struck and was taken to the hospital.

Investigators say Noe Saucedo was driving a stolen Ford F-250 pickup, when the fatal crash occurred at 12:54 p.m. in the area of Somersville Road and Delta Fair Boulevard, according to Contra Costa County Sheriff Public Information Officer Jimmy Lee.

The Sheriff's office received a call regarding a stolen Ford F-250 pickup in Pittsburg at 12:47 p.m.  A deputy spotted the stolen truck on Bailey Road and began following it without activating his emergency lights.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the suspect took the Somersville Road exit and immediately accelerated at a high speed. The deputy then activated the emergency lights on his vehicle. Moments later, the suspect vehicle went through a red light at Somersville Road and collided into a Ford F-150 that was heading southbound.

Three people, including two children, were injured in the F-150 and were taken to hospitals, according to the sheriff's office.

Saucedo was booked on one count of murder and two counts of felony evading and is being held on $1 million bail. Efforts to contact him or his attorney were not immediately successful.
