VIDEO: CHP arrest Pittsburg man they say was pointing lasers at Oakland sideshow

A 23-year-old Pittsburg man is accused of pointing a laser at a CHP helicopter during a sideshow Sunday morning in Oakland, and he was arrested after video surveillance from above led officers to him on the group.

The CHP responded to of several sideshows Sunday morning, including one in Richmond where an officer was hurt. Another sideshow was reported about 2 a.m. at  54th Avenue and International Boulevard in Oakland, and grew to about 200 cars. Officers say they could see fireworks being shot into the air and there were reports of gunfire. CHP officers in a helicopter say they were the target of a green laser several times.

Using special video technology, they located the man suspected of aiming the laser from a white sedan, and directed ground units to his location. He faces several state and federal felony charges.
