The countdown is on for tonight's Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco.

It will feature more than 100 entries. Popular attractions include lion dancers, child performers, colorful floats, and a giant golden dragon. It takes more than a hundred members of a local martial arts group to make the dragon move.

Celebrities will include San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, and Miss Chinatown USA 2016. UCLA graduate Stephanie Wong, 23 from Millbrae, won the title. She works at Oracle, and says she is proud to carry on her heritage. She will appear on a float with her court.

The parade dates back to the 1860's.

Today's parade starts at 5:15 p.m. at Second and Market Streets, goes down Market, to Kearny, Post, Powell, Sutter, and back onto Kearny and ends at Columbus.

KTVU Fox 2 coverage begins with a special newscast at 5 p.m.

News anchor Julie Haener and journalist Ben Fong-Torres will host the parade.

KICU will replay the parade at 9 p.m.
