FBI reward offered after firearm, magazine and FBI jacket stolen from special agent's vehicle

The San Francisco division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is actively working to locate and recover items stolen from a special agent's vehicle Wednesday evening in Oakland.

The incident happened at approximately 8:40 p.m. at the Hegenburger shopping center, located at 8459 Edgewater Dr. 

According to a statement released by the FBI Thursday afternoon, a Colt M-4 semi-automatic rifle, magazine loaded with .45 caliber ammunition and an official FBI jacket was taken.

It was not immediately clear if the weapon and ammunition stolen was properly locked in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The FBI is working with the Oakland Police Department to locate the suspect or suspects responsible. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of the stolen items.
