Fire burning near the Mountain Winery in Saratoga
SARATOGA, Calif. - SARATOGA (BCN)-- A vegetation fire burning since this afternoon on the western edge of Saratoga is burning toward the Mountain Winery vineyard, Santa Clara County fire officials said.
Mountain Winery, a popular music venue with several concerts scheduled this week, is located at 14831 Pierce Road.
The blaze is burning uphill away from homes and is not threatening any structures. No evacuation orders are in place.
Around 5:05 p.m., fire officials issued a shelter-in-place order for residents on Mt. Eden Road, where the fire was initially reported west of Pierce Road around 3:19 p.m.
The order was issued so that firefighters could transport heavy equipment to the area.
Santa Clara County Fire tweeted the fire was 10 acres and 75 percent contained as of 10:00 p.m. with 150 firefighters assigned to battle the blaze.
Power was out in the Orchard Meadow neighborhood, according to officials.
Investigators will be looking into how the fire started, according to Crawford.
