Flower Piano brings music to Botanical Garden

12 days of celebrating music and nature has returned to Golden Gate Park.

It is the 3rd annual Flower Piano, where 12 pianos are hidden around San Francisco's Botanical Garden for 12 days.

Maura Ffortisimo and Dean Mermell came up with the idea and started placing pianos around the Bay Area for other projects before collaborating with the Botanical Garden.

Bob Hearn says,  "When I saw there was a few pianos you could play, I decided to make a day of it. Maybe I'll come back a couple of times and do it a few more times".

Pianist Walter Spurlock told us, "I've played pianos outside a couple times only, and every time I do it, I'm struck by it."
