MARTINEZ, Calif. (KTVU) - Firefighters dealt with 37 separate fires overnight in Contra Costa County.
At least five of the blazes have been attributed to fireworks and the other 32 are currently under investigation.
All the blazes broke out in Contra Costa County where fireworks are banned.
Fire officials say the number of fires they responded to was "over the top."
Due to the large number of fires in such a short time, aid was needed from East Bay Park fire crews.
No firefighters were injured and no houses were damaged, but the fires left grasslands charred.
