Pinole Valley HS locked down by police search

PINOLE, Calif. (KTVU) -- Pinole Valley High School is on lockdown Tuesday afternoon because a burglary suspect may be present in the area, police said.

The lockdown is not related to any activity originating from within the high school located at 2900 Pinole Valley Road, according to police.

Police said calls about the lockdown started coming into the department around 2 p.m.

Law enforcement shut down roads near Pinole Valley High due to the suspect search. 

Police are asking the public to avoid the area if possible. No information was immediately available about the suspect or the burglary, according to police.
