Officials: Amber Alert issued for two San Jose kids abducted by their mother

San Jose Police Department are searching for a mother who they say abducted her two children on Friday.

An Amber Alert was issued Saturday by the California Highway Patrol on behalf of the San Jose Police Department for the two children.

Suspect:  

The mother, Diana Moreira, 33, (AKA Diana Moreira-Del Rio), is described as Hispanic, 5'4", 120 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and a medium build. She was wearing a black tank top with black leggings with neon stripes. Investigators say she ran off with her 1-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter during a welfare check at Emma Prusch Park on the 600 block of South King Road shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Friday. 

Victims: 

The girl, Pricila Penaloza, is described as a 11-year-old Hispanic female with light brown-blonde hair with pink tips. She's 4'7" 80 lbs. and was wearing a green jacket with fur on the hood and black Adidas pants.

The boy, Alexander Penaloza, is described as a 1 year-old, Hispanic male, with black hair, 20 1/2" tall, about 24 lbs., wearing a gray puffy coat, blue jeans, black vans.

A Child Protective Services social worker was supervising a visit between the mother and her children, according to police. They say the social worker took the girl, identified as Priscilla Penaloza, to the restroom, but when she exited the bathroom the mother and the 1-year-old boy were gone. When the social worker went looking for the mother and the boy, the girl then went missing, police said. 

The suspect may be driving a grey mini-van or SUV.

The Amber Alert is in effect for the following counties: Alameda, San Benito, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Stanislaus, CA
