SF police ask for help identifying aggravated assault suspect that caused life-threatening injuries

San Francisco police are asking for help identifying a suspect wanted on suspicion of aggravated assault for punching a person who suffered life-threatening injuries in the attack, police said Friday. 

The alleged aggravated assault occurred at 11:22 p.m. on Sept. 8 at First and Howard streets. 

Police said the victim was waiting on the street corner for a ride hailing service when a vehicle pulled up. 

The victim thought the vehicle was his ride and approached it. The occupant of the vehicle got out and allegedly punched the victim who fell and suffered life-threatening injuries. 

The suspect got back in his vehicle and drove away. 

Police said the suspect is Asian, about 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, possibly in his late 20s or early 30s with a "buzz cut" haircut and was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and black jeans. 

The suspect was seen driving away in a white, four-door sedan with silver rims and a black roof.
