Single-engine plane goes off runway at Livermore airport

Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration confirm a single engine plane went off the runway and ran into a perimeter fence at Livermore Municipal Airport Tuesday afternoon.

A single-engine Consolidated Vultee BT-13A, described as a WWII-era plane ran off the runway and came to rest along the fence at the airport at 680 Terminal Circle around 3:35 p.m. while the pilot was practicing touch-and-goes.

A touch-and-go is a procedure where the pilot lands and then takes off again without stopping.

Neither of the two people on board were injured.

FAA did not disclose the damage to the plane. The aircraft tail number is N59842.

The FAA will investigate.
