Suspect in San Jose homicide located, arrested in San Francisco

Lejon Terrel Rhodes of San Jose was taken into custody Thursday and booked on suspicion of murder. 

Police have arrested a suspect believed to be connected to a shooting on San Jose's East Santa Clara Street earlier this month, which killed a Redwood City man, police said today.

Lejon Terrel Rhodes, 24, of San Jose was taken into custody by the San Jose police's covert response unit in San Francisco Wednesday and booked into Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of murder.

On Dec. 2 at about 3:30 a.m. police responded to a report of a person shot in the 1200 block of East Santa Clara Street. They found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The 44-year-old victim, Jamal Wright of Redwood City, was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Rhodes is being held at the county's Main Jail in San Jose without bail, according to jail records.
