California's landmark textile law makes fast fashion pay for fabric waste

With Californians throwing away 1.2 million tons of textiles every year, the newly enacted Responsible Textile Recovery Act shifts the financial burden of fabric waste onto clothing manufacturers and distributors. The landmark state law requires businesses to fund and organize the collection, sorting, and recycling of used garments and textiles.
