The heat has staying power
Low stratus clouds near San Francisco after midnight, becoming most dense around the Monterey Bay and Central Coast line. Localized dense, blinding fog is possible on coastal routes before sunrise. Inland valleys and coast will cool into the comfortable 50s to low 60s. Heat Advisory: Officially into effect at 11:00 AM Saturday through Monday night for the majority of the Bay Area. Widespread Moderate Heat Risk with distinct pockets of Major Heat Risk will dominate the inland areas. Microclimate Highs: Coast: 68°F to 75°F. Morning beach stratus will be short-lived. Bayshore Shoreline: 80°F to 92°F. Inland Valleys: 95°F to 103°F. Onshore sea breezes will be light, with localized afternoon gusts reaching just 20 to 25 mph through the most wind-prone gaps and the northern Salinas Valley. These light winds are a primary driver for the active SPARE THE AIR pollution trapping through Sunday.
