Smelling smoke? Angel Island prescribed burn brings hazy air to Bay Area

If you're seeing or smelling smoke on Wednesday, it's likely because of a controlled burn on Angel Island in the San Francisco Bay. Angel Island State Park's prescribed burns are expected on both Wednesday and Thursday. "Prescribed burns help State Parks by promoting habitat improvement and reducing fuel loads that have accumulated in the absence of historically frequent, low intensity fires," according to California State Parks.
