Two men were shot on Interstate 580 in San Leandro Thursday afternoon.

The California Highway responded to the area of eastbound I-580 and 164th street near the I-238 interchange at about 12:30 p.m. after a witness called 911.

Two people inside a black Nissan Maxima were transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds. Their injuries were said to be non-life threatening. One man was possibly shot in the arm.

SkyFox flew overhead about 1 p.m. Officers were on the side of the freeway, looking for evidence. A black car with blown out windows remained on scene.

A KTVU crew saw bullet holes in the door and window, and blood in the back seat.

Authorities said they did not have a suspect or description of the shooter's vehicle. They are asking any witnesses to come forward.
