Job description: The evening Executive Producer oversees all aspects of news production for KTVU’s evening news programs and digital platforms. Qualified candidates will need to manage a large staff with the goal of producing relevant, quality news content using the highest journalistic standards and top production values. EP will be in charge of attending editorial meetings, assigning and generating stories, and reviewing scripts following the format, policy and guidelines established by news management. Also works with reporters, assignment desk and digital teams to make sure digital platforms are up to date and competitive. May work in the Control Room during broadcast to oversee presentation and changes in format. Candidate must be able to step-in and produce a newscast if/when needed, and be able to do it with the highest level of production and news value. Will also be asked to do other managerial tasks including, but not limited to, long term planning and staff scheduling. Other duties assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university required. Must have a minimum of six years of line producing experience and experience working in the capacity of a TV Newsroom Manager or leadership role. Familiarity with Bit Central, iNews and Edius a plus. Must be able to meet aggressive deadlines while completing high quality broadcasts. Must have thorough understanding of social media platforms and experience posting to digital platforms. Job description: Provide original news content for KTVU FOX 2, ktvu.com, and associated media partners by successfully accomplishing the following responsibilities: gather news information; write news stories, conduct taped and live interviews and be able to present material in a compelling and engaging manner. Must contribute to social media efforts; initiate research and enterprise stories; update and follow up on stories and communicate with managers and assignment editors about past, current and future stories. Requirements: Must have a broad working knowledge of police procedures, the court system, and municipal, state and federal government operations and must have strong knowledge of legal and ethical parameters of reporting for mass media. Ability to work under stressful conditions and deadlines is a must. Maintaining a strong roster of contacts and sources is required. Strong working knowledge of the technical aspects of television news production required, including digital and web-based newsgathering tools. Must be able to use newsroom computer systems, and possess expertise in researching material essential to putting together comprehensive news stories. Must be a strong writer and communicator and have demonstrated interview skills. A professional appearance is essential. Must annunciate clearly, and maintain a clear delivery during both live and taped reports. Bi-lingual Spanish/English a plus. 4–year college degree required with emphasis in Communications and Journalisms preferred. 3 -5 years’ experience in a medium to major market.

Job Description: The producer gathers and selects news content, writes and copy edits stories, assembles the stories into a rundown, and creates graphics and visuals to complement the presentation of material for the on-air broadcast and digital platforms. This includes generating story ideas, writing and/or producing packages for air. Work closely with News Managers, Assignment Desk, news reporters and other newsroom employees on story conception and development and execution of story. Create and write content for digital platforms that cross-promote and/or supplement station’s news gathering efforts. Participate in editorial meetings, contributing ideas and innovative ways to present material. Producers will also be assigned to produce or oversee special projects, productions, or live coverage of station-sponsored events. Other duties assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.
Requirements: The producer must be able to write news copy clearly, in broadcast style, for on-air, online, and other digital platforms. Must be able to assemble news material in a logical and organized fashion and present finished stories in a professional and engaging manner for viewers/readers to be able to comprehend the latest local, national and international news. Strong writing and producing skills are essential. Ability to contribute ideas on a daily basis and to recognize what types of stories would make for interesting and compelling television and online content. Ability to adapt to a fast paced quickly changing environment and react in live situations to cover breaking news, etc. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with peers and supervisors and to develop contacts outside the building to aid in newsgathering. The producer must be enterprising and self-motivated and be able to work independently to develop newscast or assigned production. Job Description: Maintain and improve existing client list and generate new business on our FOX stations and websites in order to generate significant revenue and achieve sales budget. Make presentations to advertising agencies and clients. Responsible for selling sponsorships that may include promotions initiated by sales persons. Compile lists of prospective customers to use as sales leads. This position involves local travel to call on regular and prospective clients. Other duties assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate.
Requirements: A Bachelors' Degree plus four years of major market experience in transactional and online advertising sales is required. Candidate must be proficient in negotiating utilizing Nielsen LPM ratings and qualitative information. Strong communication and presentation skills – both written and oral are required. Major network affiliation is preferred. Candidate must have proven success with generating and maintaining new business and experience with major sports programming sales. Prior experience with Wide Orbit and One Domain is preferred. Candidate must be detail oriented, resourceful, a team player, reliable and a self-starter. Candidate must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must have or be willing to obtain and drive reliable transportation and have a valid CA driver's license with a good driving record.

KTVU & KTVU Plus Internships
KTVU Channel 2 and KTVU Plus offer an unpaid college internship program three times a year: Spring, Summer and Fall.
Students are provided a chance to experience the working environment of television broadcasting including news/sports, digital/social media news production and promotion, and community affairs.Internship Requirements:College students must meet these requirements to qualify for a KTVU/KTVU Plus internship:
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited four year college.
- Be a junior, senior or graduate student in a graduate program.
- Provide a letter on school letterhead, prior to the start of the internship, from an advisor or professor stating that the student is enrolled in school during the current semester/quarter and will be receiving course credit.
- Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Due to the consequences of the coronavirus and its anticipated aftermath in the coming months, KTVU FOX 2 will NOT be offering student internships in Summer 2020. If KTVU offers a Fall 2020 internship, we will post deadlines and the application form on this page in June.
