JOB DESCRIPTION: Seeking a dynamic, experienced News leader with excellent news judgment to be second in command in the newsroom. With the direction of the VP/News Director, oversees daily news operation on all platforms. Must have strong knowledge of digital and social media operations and well as emerging trends in new media. Will manage a large editorial team across two television stations and work closely with executive producers, reporters and digital staff. Strong planning skills a must. Qualified candidate must also demonstrate knowledge of current local, national and international events and issues. Represent the station in a manner consistent with the business standards and policies of the Company. Assist with resolution of staffing and equipment issues. Journalism degree from a 4-year college and a minimum of five years’ experience in news management with noted leadership skills is required. Must have a working knowledge of journalistic ethics, libel and privacy laws. Must have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple hours of daily newscasts. Must have excellent supervisory, people and management skills. Requires a unique and diverse combination of computer, engineering, budgeting, purchasing, cost control, personnel issues and planning experience along with a background in journalism and TV news. JOB DESCRIPTION: The morning Executive Producer oversees all aspects of news production for KTVU’s morning news programs and digital platforms. Qualified candidates will need to manage a large staff with the goal of producing relevant, quality news content using the highest journalistic standards and top production values. EP will be in charge of attending editorial meetings, assigning and generating stories, and reviewing scripts following the format, policy and guidelines established by news management. Also works with reporters, assignment desk and digital teams to make sure digital platforms are up to date and competitive. May work in the Control Room during broadcast to oversee presentation and changes in format. Candidate must be able to step-in and produce a newscast if/when needed, and be able to do it with the highest level of production and news value. Will also be asked to do other managerial tasks including, but not limited to, long term planning and staff scheduling. Other duties assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university required. Must have a minimum of six years of line producing experience and experience working in the capacity of a TV Newsroom Manager or leadership role. Familiarity with Bit Central, iNews and Edius a plus. Manager National Sales
JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Vice President of Sales, co-directs the National Sales Department for KTVU and KTVU Plus. This involves continuing communication with Fox Stations Sales account executives, agencies and clients; assisting with sales efforts; managing inventory and pricing; providing direction and support to FSS and the local sales team; demonstrating leadership to the department and fellow managers – all designed to achieve and exceed station goals and objectives. Achieve advertising revenue goals and objectives by managing sports, special sales, internet and new business sales. Manage inventory and rates to maximize station revenue. Provide guidance to FSS and the local sales team to make effective rating and program analysis presentations. Clearly define FSS performance expectations. Involves travel to FSS markets, going out on calls, entertaining key clients. Other duties assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university and a minimum of five years related experience in National Sales or sales representative position is required.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in partnership with FSS management in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Must be very knowledgeable in the basic and advanced techniques of selling television and in sales negotiation. Must have strong organizational skills, and demand high standards of self and others. Deadlines must be established, and achieved. Must have strong ability to proactively build relationships with clients at all levels. Considerable amount of time spent traveling to sales rep offices around the country. Experience with Wide Orbit Traffic system a definite plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Primarily, candidate will provide administrative support to the KTVU Fox 2 and KTVU Plus General Manager. Duties will also include assisting VP of Finance, VP of News and Human Resources Manager. These duties include but are not limited to station travel arrangements, office supply orders, review of expense reports and coordination of all incoming packages. In addition, candidate will provide administrative support to Sales management staff and Account Executives. Duties include writing and checking orders, proposals, maintaining organizational systems, general office requirements, and assisting with special projects. Investigate order discrepancies and credit memos. Back up other sales assistants as necessary. Participate in and help with sales coordinated events. Answer phones in a professional and courteous manner. Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.
Strong written/oral communication skills are required. Strong PC skills and proficiency w/ Microsoft Office is also required. This position requires excellent attention to detail, and accuracy. Must be able to interact professionally with a variety of people and work efficiently and courteously w/ station personnel. Must be personable and demonstrate initiative. Two years of experience in an administrative position is required. Media experience preferred. High school diploma or GED is required. College degree preferred. Experience with Box and Quip helpful.

Digital Sales Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION: KTVU and KTVU Plus are currently looking for an experienced Digital Sales Coordinator to join our sales team. The Digital Sales Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting campaign setup, management and reporting for the sales team. Responsibilities to include general administrative work, support of the digital sales team and leadership, coordination with ad operations to traffic and monitor delivery, campaign tracking and reporting, and support with client presentations.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in administration or coordinator position. Experience in Digital Ad Ops, Ad Tech, Media, or Advertising.
- Participate in meetings, take notes and disseminate information to relevant stakeholders
- Experience with PowerPoint a must and Excel, Slack , Media Encoder and Photo Shop
- Works collaboratively with other team members, agency partners, and outside vendors.
- Tracks and reports on media asset performance, and performs related administrative activities.
- Maintains a sustainable digital e-records management system.
- Participates in media/campaign strategy meetings and brainstorming sessions as requested.
- Partner with Account Executives to gather campaign assets from clients, agencies and internal teams.
- Maintain files of campaign screen shots / proofs of campaign launches for all placements.
- Participate in special projects and assignments.

Senior Film/Tape Editor
JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs non-linear editing for creative services, sales, news, sports and other programs as needed utilizing the Adobe Creative Cloud collection of software. Duties include tagging promotional spots, editing news billboards, editing client commercials and sales presentations as well as newscast content and segments/packages for other special productions including long form content. Editor will create compelling, understandable and accurate visual stories and will work closely with producers, writers, videographers and Creative Services supervisors to fulfil the goals and expectations of each project. The editor is expected to exercise excellent professional judgment based on current broadcast industry video and audio quality and editing standards. The ideal candidate will be expected to follow station policies regarding journalistic standards, quality and appropriateness, and alert managers when questions arise regarding any of these concerns. This is a union position; membership in IBEW is required. Must be proficient in non-linear editing and have a solid understanding of production techniques. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Producer helps oversee the Bay Area’s top rated morning show, Mornings on 2. The ideal candidate will work closely with the show’s executive producer to assign stories, approve reporter scripts, manage breaking news and oversee rundowns. The Senior Producer fills in as executive producer and also line produces when needed. Candidates must have strong writing skills, be able to multi-task and work well under pressure. They must also have a strong understanding of the digital landscape and have a digital-first mentality. The senior producer must be able to write news copy clearly, in broadcast style, for on-air, online, and other digital platforms. Must be able to assemble news material in a logical and organized fashion and present finished stories in a professional and engaging manner. Strong writing and producing skills are essential. Ability to contribute ideas on a daily basis and to recognize what types of stories would make for interesting and compelling television and online content. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced quickly changing environment and react in live situations to cover breaking news, etc. Requires a thorough understanding of all journalistic standards and broadcast production techniques used to create visual and compelling on-air and online content.

Part-Time Broadcast Technician
KTVU is seeking candidates for two Part-Time Broadcast Technician positions. Primary duties include operating in Master Control, the Technical Operations Center, and Ingest. Master Control automation experience a must with an emphasis on switching live sports. Ensuring compliance with FCC regulations related to closed captioning, EAS, transmitters, text-to-speech, and the CALM Act. Live news experience is also a must to include tuning in live shots via microwave, satellite, and bonded cellular. Other duties include commercial and program ingest and segmentation as well as quality control of on-air signal. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts that may include nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Other duties as deemed appropriate and necessary. Two years of college or technical school and two years of related experience required. The ability to work under tight timelines and high stress while maintaining an exceptional on-air product. Basic technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to properly communicate issues to the Maintenance Engineers and supervisors. Computer hardware, software, and networking experience and the ability to quickly learn new applications and workflows. Must work well with others in and out of the Engineering department and be able to communicate clearly in writing as well as in person.

REQUIREMENTS: Must have a broad working knowledge of police procedures, the court system, and municipal, state and federal government operations and must have strong knowledge of legal and ethical parameters of reporting. Ability to work under stressful conditions and deadlines is a must. A professional appearance is essential. Must annunciate clearly, and maintain a clear delivery during both live and taped reports. 4–year college degree required with emphasis in Communications and Journalisms preferred. 3 -5 years’ experience in a medium to major market.

Make presentations to advertising agencies and clients. Responsible for selling sponsorships that may include promotions initiated by sales persons. Compile lists of prospective customers to use as sales leads. This position involves local travel to call on regular and prospective clients. Requirements: A Bachelors' Degree plus four years of major market experience in transactional and online advertising sales is required. Candidate must be proficient in negotiating utilizing Nielsen LPM ratings and qualitative information. Strong communication and presentation skills – both written and oral are required. Major network affiliation is preferred. Candidate must have proven success with generating and maintaining new business and experience with major sports programming sales. - Be currently enrolled in an accredited four year college.
