CONCORD, Calif. (KTVU/BCN) - Three cellphone stores were robbed Tuesday evening in Concord and another in Pleasant Hill, according to police.
Around 5:45 p.m., a Sprint store and an AT&T store were robbed in a shopping center at 5434 Ygnacio Valley Road in Concord. Then at 6 p.m. a Verizon store was hit at 785 Oak Grove Road. At least $3,000 worth of merchandise was taken.
In each robbery, the suspects allegedly went into the store and stole the devices on display. No one was injured and no employees were threatened.
There were two suspects and both were described as thin black men who were over six feet tall who were wearing jeans. One man had on a gray hooded sweatshirt and the other had on a black hooded sweatshirt. Both had their hoods pulled up to cover part of their faces.
They fled the scene in a vehicle described as an Infinity, possibly a black or gray G35 with paper plates.
Pleasant Hill police did not provide the time or location of the robbery that took place within their jurisdiction Tuesday, but they did acknowledge that their investigators have been looking into a string of similar robberies since early September.
Their investigators believe that due to similarities in the suspect descriptions, the cases may be related. They say that each of the suspects in their cases have been African American men in their 20s or 30s.
The suspects typically use tools to separate the merchandise from the security devices holding them in place before fleeing the scene. They generally leave with several thousands of dollars worth of iPhones, Galaxies and Apple Watches.

Just last week, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office announced seven arrests in connection with a series of similar robberies at Apple stores throughout the state.
