OAKLAND, Calif. (BCN) - Oakland police arrested five people Wednesday evening who were allegedly involved in a road rage shooting that injured two people and then a collision that injured four others.
At 7:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 7700 block of Bancroft Avenue, according to police.
Upon arrival, officers located a car that was struck by gunfire. Inside, they found a male driver suffering from a gunshot wound and a female passenger who was injured by debris during the shooting, police said.
Officers determined suspects traveling in another vehicle had shot the two victims following a road rage incident in the area of 90th and Bancroft avenues, according to police.
The two victims were taken to a hospital, where they are listed in stable condition as of this morning, police said.
After an investigation, officers located the shooting suspects in the 7300 block of Bancroft Avenue, where the suspects' vehicle had collided with another vehicle, according to police.
Additionally, three pedestrians were also struck by one of the vehicles during the collision, although police have not yet determined which vehicle struck the pedestrians.
Officers arrested five suspects inside the suspect vehicle, four men and one woman. Officers also found a firearm inside the suspect vehicle, according to police.
All five suspects were taken to a hospital, where they are listed in stable condition as of this morning, police said. Their names have not yet been released.
The driver of the vehicle struck by the suspect vehicle was also taken to a hospital and was in stable condition as of Thursday morning.
The three pedestrians who were struck, one woman and two male juveniles, were taken to a hospital, where they were also listed in stable condition as of this morning, according to police.
