An 8-year-old boy is showing the world that not even a disability can hold him back from accomplishing his dreams.
Baily Matthews from Doncaster, England suffers from cerebral palsy. But just last weekend, he achieved his dream of finishing his first triathlon ever.
According to the Yorkshire Post, Bailey became the star of the show at Castle Howard when he completed a 100-meter lake swim, a 4,000 meter bike ride and 1,300 meter run.
He had a walking frame to help him, but Bailey crossed the line unaided and got roaring cheers from the crowd his incredible efforts so richly deserved.
His father Jonathan commented: “the majority of what he does is self-propelled. He sets his own goals when he is swimming and says “I am going to do x amount of meters today.’ He is more than eager to get out and do something. If we can make that easier for him then that is what we will do.”
He continued: “the response has been quite overwhelming. One lady asked us if he did it as a sponsorship thing, but he just did it because it was something he wanted to do.”
His mother Julie added: “Baily has always been very determined. If he wants to do something he will find a way to do it, even if it is not the conventional way.”
Baily had proved to not only be an inspiration to his parents, but to the world.
