A big rig caught fire on NB 880 to the EB 80 connecter in Emeryville, shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday.

All three lanes shut down at 1:06 p.m. as crews worked to put out the blaze.

To avoid the backup drivers should take WB 580 to 80 E.

As of 3:56 p.m. there was an estimated two hours before any lanes would reopen.

Debris from the truck was flying onto 580 at the MacArthur maze. There was no information on any injuries.
