Chrysler is recalling certain models of their minivans due to an issue with their side curtain airbags.

What specific vehicles are impacted?

What we know:

The recall impacts 178,246 vehicles of its 2022-2026 Pacifica and Voyager minivans. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says 30 percent of those vehicles are likely to have the issue with the defective airbags.

Chrysler says the vehicles may have been built with curtain airbags that fail to retain enough pressure when deployed, according to documents filed with NHTSA.

The recall says the vehicles in question were built between May 17, 2022, when those airbags were first introduced into vehicle production. The airbags were no longer in production by August 8, 2025.

Similar vehicles not included in this recall were made before or after this period, so they were not a part of this recall.

What's next:

Chyrsler will notify dealers of the recall this week. Notices of the recall will be sent out to owners this Spring. Chrysler will need to replace either one or both airbags as needed.
