Police arrest a man during Walnut Creek homicide investigation

Police arrest a man during Walnut Creek homicide investigation. Two women were found dead inside a home.

Walnut Creek police on Friday arrested a 43-year-old man after two women's bodies were found inside a home that neighbors said had seen previous domestic disturbances.

Sgt. Mike Watson said Howard Wang was booked into Martinez Detention Facility on two counts of murder and is being held without bail.

Wang's arrest stems from police being called out Thursday at 11:45 p.m. to the 100 block Kelobra Court, where people reported the sound of gunfire and where officers found the bodies.

Police said the women were related, but they didn't specify how, and that they also knew Wang, but didn't elaborate.

Walnut Creek police make arrest after 2 women's bodies found inside home

Walnut Creek police on Friday arrested a 43-year-old man after two women's bodies were found inside a home that neighbors said had seen previous domestic disturbances.

Public records show that Wang also lived at that house.

Lt. Scott Moorhouse told KTVU on Friday that other family members were present at the time, including a man – which turned out to be Wang – and two young children.

A specific motive has yet to be given.

Moorhouse said there was no threat to the community but that the investigation remains active.

Neighbors told KTVU there has been a history of domestic disturbances at the house, located in a cul-de-sac on a residential street in what's known as the Woodlands area.

Many woke up to yellow crime scene tape and seemed to be surprised at the commotion as they took out their garbage cans.

The deaths were reported so late at night that many people had gone to sleep unaware of what had occurred.

Patrick Wilkinson said he's lived here since he was a child, and it's scary not knowing all the details.

"This sort of thing doesn't happen in our neighborhood," he said. "So its a little jarring. I think certainly we want to hear more information and details behind it. Yeah, it's scary. It's not something you wanna wake up to."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Walnut Creek Police Department at (925) 943-5844.

KTVU's Aaron Dickens contributed to this report.
