The Central Marin Police Authority needs help from the public to solve the fatal stabbing of an elderly woman 25 years ago.

Ursula Cinollo, 92, was stabbed to death in her Lincoln Village apartment in Larkspur Landing. Her son-in-law found her body on June 12, 1993, when he went to check on her, Central Marin Police Authority spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said.

Cinollo was recovering from hip surgery and didn't answer her phone. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing was disturbed or missing from her apartment, Rohrbacher said.

The San Francisco native's full name was Ursula Imelda Finn Cinollo, but she was known as "Ursie," one of 13 children of Michael Finn and Mary Dullea.

Michael Finn had been a player, manager and owner of the San Francisco Pioneers professional baseball team in San Francisco.

Ursie survived the 1906 earthquake, attended Presentation High School in San Francisco and later married Evo Cinollo. They had one daughter, Maryann. After Evo died in 1980, Ursie moved to Larkspur to be closer to Maryann's family, Rohrbacher said.

Ursie volunteered her time to organizations that supported single parents in need, veterans and the homeless, and she donated time, money and cooking skills to charitable causes.

Rohrbacher said Ursie's great-grandchildren and grandchildren are still heartbroken about her death. The Central Marin Police Authority hopes someone will come forward and help solve the 25-year-old cold case murder.
