A 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in a fight near a Milpitas high school on Tuesday, and another teen boy was arrested for allegedly carrying out the killing.

What they're saying:

Witnesses first told KTVU that a chaotic fight broke out on Tuesday afternoon between a group of about 10 teens dressed in black near Milpitas High School.

The Milpitas Police Department later confirmed that officers responded about 3:50 p.m. on that day to the 240 block of Vienna Drive on multiple reports of the fight.

The witnesses also said that a teacher passing by in their car stopped and rushed to try and break up the fight before police arrived at the scene.

The teenage boy was found at the scene suffering "apparent stab wounds" and was taken to a hospital, where he died of his wounds.

A 16-year-old girl was also treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries suffered in the fight.
