Nearly 1 million Jeeps, Rams, Dodges and Chryslers recalled

The Brief

    • Stellantis recalled nearly a million vehicles over an issue that prevents drivers from viewing the rearview camera display.
    • The recall spans all four of the company’s American brands, including Chryslers, Dodges, Jeeps, and Rams.

Stellantis has recalled nearly one million cars, trucks, minivans, and SUVs across all four of its American brands because of an issue affecting the rearview cameras.

The automaker explained the recall stems from an issue with the radio software that blocks the rearview camera from appearing on the media screen.

By the numbers:

The problem affects 848,511 vehicles in the United States, as well as more than 100,000 in other countries, with the vast majority of those being sold in Canada.

The vehicles included in the recall are:

  • 2026-27 Chrysler Pacifica, Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid and Voyager minivans
  • 2026-27 Dodge Charger vehicles
  • 2026 Jeep Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer L and Wrangler vehicles
  • 2026 Ram 1500 and 2500 pickups and ProMaster and ProMaster EV vans

What you can do:

For now, Stellantis advises people to use their mirrors and be aware of their surroundings if the camera’s rear view does not appear on the screen.

The company expects to be able to remedy the issue through an over-the-air update, which will mean that owners will not need to bring their vehicles to the dealership for the fix. Drivers are advised to be on the lookout for a prompt that an update is available.

No injuries or crashes have been reported in connection with the issue, Stellantis indicated.

Affected drivers will receive a recall notice about the issue starting in September. If they have any questions, drivers are advised to contact customer care at 1-800-853-1403. They can also find more information and check to see if their vehicle is included at recalls.mopar.com.
