SAN FRANCISCO - A San Francisco dentist, who encourages marijuana users to be his patients, was arrested in New York on charges of drug trafficking, according to the New York Daily News.
According to the report, Jerome Weitz, 63, was arrested Wednesday as part of an undercover sting.
His attorney says Weitz has been in practice for 33 years. His practice called 'Mission Dental Health' is located in the Mission District.
Police say during his arrest, they seized $10,000 in cash, and packaged bags of marijuana.
According to the report, prosecutors accuse Weitz of shipping 20 to 30 pounds of pot to New York City each month. Prosecutors say he made $100,000 a month in illegal drug sales.
