Vegetation fire in Oakland
A 2-alarm vegetation fire broke out in Oakland near the Coliseum
OAKLAND, Calif. - Firefighters battled a 2-alarm brush fire in Oakland early Tuesday morning.
A dispatcher with the Oakland Fire Department told KTVU that crews were responding to the vegetation fire on Oakport Street, off of Interstate 880, along the waterfront.
The CHP received a report about a fire near the highway at 3:52 a.m.
Acting battalion chief Anthony Sanders said the fire was fully contained by about 5 a.m.
