WATCH: Sideshow erupts in Oakland overnight

OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - In Oakland overnight, hundreds of spectators watched as cars spun out erratically in circles, also known as "donuts," bringing traffic to a standstill. 

The sideshow broke out at 42nd Avenue near the High Street Interstate 880 onramp and witnesses say one person was struck by a car. 

The activity included illegal fireworks, according to police. California Highway Patrol requested assistance with the situation around 11:38 p.m. 

Oakland police assisted CHP in dispersing the crowd and say they have processed about 200 vehicles.
