A 24-year-old San Francisco woman was beaten and sexually assaulted in Sonoma after ordering a rideshare as she was leaving a bar in the Mission District, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

The woman was found just before 5 a.m. Saturday near the Safeway in Sonoma. She said she had been beaten and sexually assaulted by strangers.

The woman told authorities she had been drinking at Bruno's Bar and had ordered a car from a ride-sharing company to pick her up, before the bar closed. She was planning to head home. When a vehicle arrived she got in, but noticed another man in the backseat. According to the sheriff's office, it's not believed that the vehicle she got into was actually a rideshare vehicle.

The driver took the woman and man to an area in Sonoma where she said she was beaten and choked. The woman says she was sexually assaulted by both the passenger and driver.

The woman was able to get away but had visible injuries to her face and neck.

The woman was missing her black boots, cellphone and identification.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call detectives at 707-565-2185.
