SFPD chief says he needs help dealing with staffing shortage

San Francisco's police chief says he needs help in dealing with a staffing shortage. The Board of Supervisors is taking on this issue. Currently, there are 2,182 sworn and civilian staff members of the force, but a report indicates that an additional 764 people are needed to properly keep the streets safe.
