Chemical causing foul stench in Crockett

People in the East Bay town of Crockett are complaining of a smell of rotten eggs. Health officials say hydrogen sulfide coming from the wastewater treatment plant is to blame for the foul odor. Officials say the exposure level is mostly harmless to human health and safety. Concentrations of the chemical can cause headaches, nausea and irritated eyes over long periods.
