Laney College journalists win Freedom of Information award

Laney College student journalists studying under Chair Eleni Economides Gastis sued the Peralta Community College District this year for contracts, emails and financial records reporters have made repeated attempts to access. In their ongoing suit, the students challenge administrators? refusal to provide the documents and accuse them of violating the California Public Records Act.
