Cafe International, beloved Lower-Haight fixture, contemplates future
Gem of a neighborhood fixture, Cafe International in San Francisco's Lower Haight, has been around for more than 30 years. Now its future seems a bit up in the air. The owner has posted a sign on the door indicating they are closed temporarily as they've dealt with daily shoplifting, extortion, and break-ins. The owner says they need time to figure out a way to not shut down. Customers are drawn to the live music and atmosphere.
