Newsom, Lee squabble over Senate seat

Gov. Gavin Newsom said that he would appoint a Black woman to fill Sen. Dianne Feinstein's seat if she were to leave office early, but said he would not appoint anyone who is running for that seat after Feinstein's term ends in 2024. That drew criticism from Rep. Barbara Lee who has declared her candidacy for the Senate.
