Loma Prieta earthquake, 34 years later
34 years ago, the Bay Area was rocked by the devastating Loma Prieta earthquake. The 6.9 magnitude quake caused part of the Bay Bridge to collapse and many buildings to buckle. 63 people were killed, 3,757 were injured and more than 1,200 were displaced. KTVU's Alex Savidge and Heather Holmes speak with Harold Schapelhouman, former Chief of the Menlo Park Fire Protection District about the changes we've made in earthquake preparedness over the last three decades.
