Therapist explains the effects social media has on children, teenagers amid Meta lawsuit
A newly unsealed court document alleges that Meta has collected children's data from Instagram accounts. It says since at least 2019, Meta has refused to shut down the majority of accounts belonging to children under the age of 13. The attorneys general from 33 states, including California, also say that Meta's products were designed to capitalize on teens' vulnerabilities. Kaitlin Soule, a family therapist and founder of Bay Area Modern Therapy, joins us on 'The Nine' to talk about the effects social media can have on children and teenagers.
