New study reveals reason behind red wine headaches
If you get a headache after drinking a glass of red wine, researchers from UC Davis might have an answer for it. They say it's not the sulfites or tannins that have been blamed for the red wine headache, instead, it's a naturally occurring flavonoid in red wine that is to blame. Researchers say it disrupts the way the body processes alcohol, leading to the accumulation of a toxic compound. Andrew Waterhouse, who's a wine chemist and professor at UC Davis, joined us on 'The Nine' to explain the findings.
