Quake on Norcal fault could cause earth to sink
Researchers are sounding an alarm about an earthquake fault along the Northern California coast. A new study shows a large quake in the Cascadia subduction zone could cause land along the coastline to sink permanently increasing the long-term flooding risk. A large quake could cause a downward shift of anywhere from 6 inches to 6 feet.
