Cancer treatment tested in cats may show promise for humans
A new treatment for cats with oral cancer could also help humans. Researchers from UCSF, UC Davis, and the University of Pittsburgh enrolled 20 cats in a clinical trial. After treatment, many remained stable or saw their tumors shrink. Scientists say the breakthrough could benefit people too, since household pets are often a better model for how drugs work in humans compared to lab mice.
