Oakland City Council urges mayor, police commission to consider internal candidate for police chief

Some members of the Oakland City Council and community say Oakland residents need a police chief who understands the community, and they want Mayor Barbara Lee and the Police Commission who are in charge of selecting candidates to consider internal candidates in the search for the new Police Chief.
