Researchers with a California consumer watchdog group are warning parents about the risks posed by a growing number of AI-powered toys hitting the market ahead of the holidays.
The California Public Interest Research Group (CalPIRG) released its annual Trouble in Toyland report this week, spotlighting toys the group says could be hazardous — including those with toxic chemicals, choking hazards and, this year, artificial intelligence chat toys marketed to children as young as three.
