South Lake Tahoe residents and visitors begin evacuations en masse

South Lake Tahoe was ordered to evacuate on Monday as the huge Caldor Fire in El Dorado County reached toward the mountain town. Traffic was clearly backed up as residents and visitors hit the road and fled.
